1. Brokeness! Thank you for this reminder, Crissy! Great hymns have inspiring background stories e.g. John Newton’s Amazing Grace and my best narration and voice is by Wintley Phipps. His version of “It is Well With My Soul”, both in youtube is one of the best I’ve heard. Spafford’s life was horribly traumatic and yet, his written lyrics, made after those events, is a testament of a true believer in JESUS CHRIST. A believer who is grateful for GOD’s grace dispite all the tragedies and longs for JESUS’ second coming. There is more to this song for me, in fact it is one of my videos in the gersomclark channel because of its impact and background story. Wintley gave a good introductory line before he sang the song.

  2. This is my favorite hymn of all time. Should I leave this world before the Lord returns, I have already requested this song to be sung because it is the one song that speaks my heart about my life and relationship with Jesus.
