My wife and I stopped at a major department store in a large area mall. She stayed on the main level at the women’s clothing while I went upstairs to return a previous purchase. When I finished, I was supposed to meet her downstairs … or was she going to meet me upstairs? Whatever the plan, we both ended up looking for the other on the wrong floor. There is a difference between going up and going down.

In the first letter that the Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians in the city of Thessalonica, he wanted to make sure they didn’t get up and down confused.

For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout … and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet…
